Justice League 2015

   

     I decided to write this post when I found that I ran out of room while trying to leave a comment on a youtube video pertaining to the subject so here are my thoughts on the announcement from Warner Brothers about the upcoming Justice League movie set to come out the summer of 2015.  I believe that around 85% of the reason this movie is even coming out is because of the success of the Avengers movie that came out this past summer, and the fact that this movie is coming out the same summer as Avengers 2 just reaffirms this.  The only problem with this is Marvel and Disney had been working on this idea for a long time with individual superhero movies that built the Marvel universe, each movie dropping subtle hints and mentioning each other, making the idea of all the hero's one day getting together very believable. 
     From where I stand it looks like DC and Warner Brothers saw a hero team movie and decided they would make a hero team movie, but there is so much more that went into building the Avengers movie, that DC won't have when when the Justice League movie comes out.  Before the Avengers movie came out there were already four movies in the same continuity building up to it, and being in the same continuity is the important part.  DC has just finished up Nolan's Batman trilogy which will not follow the same continuity as this Justice League movie as well as a Green Lantern movie that will not follow this continuity either.  So going into this Justice League movie the only movie we will have to build an entire universe on is the new Man of Steel movie set to come out June 13th 2013. All I can say is this better be really good and set up this new DC universe, because as an audience we have never seen the true DC universe with all the various hero's on film before.  I really liked the Nolan films but they did not set up the DC universe very well if The Justice League would have tried to get together in Nolan's universe, and it really is Nolan's universe not DC's, I would not believe it and that is one of the my main issues with that trilogy.  What worries be about the new Man of Steel movie is, just based on the trailer, it already feels very Nolan with its stark realism and I just don't see where a flying hansom alien in a blue onesie fits in that world, much less Aquaman who is already confirmed,  according to IMDB, to be in the Justice League film.
     Another thing that I am not looking forward to in the Justice League film is the first hour or so will be origin stories.  Wonder Woman has never been seen in film before so I personally would love to see her origin story, and I think she deserves one but we will most defiantly lose something if her origin story is mashed together with this reboot Batman origin, reboot Green Lantern origin, The Flash origin, Aquaman origin, and whoever else they decide to stick in this movie.
     Anyway this movie just seems like bad planning on Warner Brothers part, I love DC and all their characters, I really just wish that this movie was planned out better and given the time it needs to be kick ass.  I would rather them announce that they are going to make at least a new Wonder Woman, and reboot Batman in the same continuity as Man of Steel before they attempt to make a Justice League film, but that's just me being hopeful.
